Forum Goals
The Washington Department of Ecology, in partnership with consultants, has designed and is implementing the Statewide Low Impact Development (LID) Training Program from September 2014 through June 2015. The Statewide LID Training Program offers free LID courses on a wide range of topics. To ensure that LID education continues beyond 2015, the state is recruiting technical and community colleges to build LID education programs as part of the institution’s program offerings. The forum provides an opportunity for attendees to learn about the role they can play in advancing LID knowledge in the state.

The forum offers attendees opportunity to:

● Understand the role that community and technical colleges can play in advancing LID knowledge
● Understand the business case for offering LID trainings in terms of job opportunities for graduates
● Understand the financial mechanisms and incentives being offered by the state (and others) to build capacity to develop LID/stormwater education programs
● Access existing tools and curriculum to help design and deliver an LID program
