Pierce Blog Highlights IGNIS Webinar Series!

Pierce Blog Highlights IGNIS Webinar Series!

A big thank you to Pierce College for a lovely write-up of our IGNIS webinar series.  If you don’t follow The Backchannel, the blog hosted by the Pierce College Center for Engagement and Learning, you definitely should!

In addition to a lovely write-up, they indicated this helpful Collaborate Resource from Shoreline Community College.  If you are feeling nervous and/or overwhelmed about using Collaborate, this guide will help you–step by step!

Thank you, Pierce, for helping spread the word about IGNIS!  The word means “spark” or “Ignite” in Latin, and that is exactly what we hope to do as we explore a range of topics related to the LEARN in eLearning.

SBCTC Webinar Series: Call for (Self) Nominations

SBCTC eLearningMy eLearning counterpart Alissa Sells and I are putting together a series of webinars hosted by the SBCTC.  Held on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, each webinar will begin with five short presentations using the IGNITE format (5 minutes, 20 slides at 20 seconds each—Enlighten Us, But Make it Quick) and then open up for Q&A/discussion among presenters and participants.  We encourage speakers from all disciplines, departments, and roles—faculty, staff, administrators.

Assessment, Teaching, and Learning SBCTC LogoPlease take a few moments to skim the list of topics below: if you are interested in presenting (or know someone who had something vital and transformative to add) please send names and contact e-mails to me (jwhetham@sbctc.edu).  Of course, if you have topics you’d like to propose for additional webinars (or for next year’s series), I’d love to hear those as well.
